After carefully crafting every moment on A Shifting Lightness, it was invigorating to set the music free into the hands of other artists. I invited two incredibly talented musicians and friends on the opposite side of the world to create their own interpretations of pieces from the album.

I have long admired UK songwriter and electronic musical artist Tom Adams, so I was thrilled when he agreed to rework my piano and strings piece "With Wings Falling". Tom used modular synthesis to rebuild the piece into something entirely new, combining string section swells with rhythms and synth lines to give the track a new energy and momentum. When he first sent me his version it took me completely by surprise in the best way.

Mikael Lind is an Icelandic composer of the most beautiful experimental ambient music, and a more recent friend of mine. Mikael immediately selected "In Ancient Ways" to rework, and after only a couple of weeks sent me a stunning version created by cutting up the piano notes, abandoning the steady rhythm of the original, to imbue the piece with a new intensity. However, it didn't end there. Three days later he surprised me with a second version of the same piece, this time a gentle ambient version that explores a completely different side of the track's emotions, resulting in a piece that perfectly concludes the collection.
